milk teeth : three (five) walls and a window
plaster, glass
installation; dimensions variable
2018
- Make a rubber mold of a panel of one-inch bubble wrap.
- Cast plaster bubbles to hang on drywall surfaces of a small alcove (plaster on plaster).
- Cast wax bubbles to make glass bubbles to hang on the window of a small alcove (glass on glass).
- Determine the middle of the smallest wall and hang a 9.5-inch square of bubbles at eye level. This is Wall One. Hang another square of equal size directly across the alcove. This is Wall Two.
- Find the middle of the window. Hang a square of cast glass bubbles at the same height as the two squares of plaster bubbles. This is Window.
- The fourth surface of the square created by the walls and the window is split over the space of the gallery. Cut the third square of plaster bubbles to accommodate this spacing so it is directly across from the window bubbles. This is Wall Three, split across three separate surfaces, for a total of five walls engaged.
